Meet the legends. Charles Back, 21st January
He is known as one of the greatest entrepreneurs and innovators of the wine world. In 2017, Charles became one of the most awarded winemakers in SA and he is joining us for a night blending Humour and Wine. From the start, he has done things differently, introducing Mediterranean grapes to the Cape, advocating of social development, naming his wines with names that led to France threatening to sue him, always taking a risk on new projects, pioneering “wine Revolutions”. A life full of adventures, hard work and wine with lost of sense of humour. We can’t wait to hosting him!

Meet the legends, DAVID NIEUWOUDT, 28th of January
“I want people to drink my wines and think of these mountain ranges, unique and untouched”.
Family tradition, love of the land, farmers at heart, pioneers in spirit. All these traits are part of a strong Nieuwoudt legacy. And Dwarsrivier inheritance seems to sit lightly on the strong shoulders of fifth generation David. He leads a “team with attitude” to produce award-winning wines from high-altitude vineyards.

ITALIAN APERITIVO, Last Thursday!
The amber glow of a Negroni catching the early evening light. The gentle clinking of glasses filled with vibrant Aperol Spritz. The animated conversations floating through piazzas as locals unwind after work. This is APERITIVO time - the Italian happy hour, but with a cultural significance that runs far deeper than simply discounted drinks. As a social institution dating back over 200 years, aperitivo represents the intersection of Italy’s reverence for food, drink, and community. It’s a ritual that transforms the awkward gap between work and dinner into something magical - a celebration of friendship, connection, and the art of slowing down.
EVERY LAST THURSDAY of the month, we will celebrate friendship and connection, with a flow of Aperol Spritz, Negroni, snacks, from 6pm to 8.30pm on our outdoor seating.

Chef KEVIN’s Take Over, 31st January
We like food, we like wine, but we love friends more, especially those who can cook!
Kevin Grobler, awarded and celebrated chef in France and South Africa, agreed on taking over our kitchen, Saturday evening 31st of January.
Kevin will roll in with fire, creativity and the kind of food that makes people stop mid-sentence and just feel things. Menu is sort of a secret surprise, but we can whisper that fish is definitively the main component. Wine will flow in MAGNUMS, from bubbly to red. Long-table, under the stars, a fire with a chef live creating and music.
